ABOUT WOSP AUSTIN
WOSP - The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity is a Polish non-profit that supports public healthcare in Poland.
Since 1993 it has been raising funds to purchase equipment for Polish hospitals and clinics.
Our Story
The WOSP Austin campaign started in 2019 with preparations to join the official 2020 Finale celebrations in Poland and around the world. The success and the overwhelming feeling of satisfaction from being able to contribute funding for pediatric healthcare programs in Poland made us do it again the following year. The response of the community was amazing, and we were joined by groups in Houston and Dallas. Even people from the Polish community in San Francisco chose to be part of WOSP Austin. Since we had to work around the COVID challenges, we included virtual fundraising using ZOOM and WhatsUp with great success. The outdoor events were very popular and a lot of fun. A Polish TV station reporting on the WOSP campaigns conducted a live conversation with us during the 2021 finale celebrations. Austin’s hearts connected with the ones in Poland.
Our 2020 campaign raised $15,102.65, in 2021 the number came up to $12,680.54, in 2022 we collected $15,154.48 and $25,000.50 in 2023
From WOSP Austin we grew into WOSP Texas, now our fundraising campaign spans Austin, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio: individual people, businesses, and various organizations – all connected by a common desire to provide better medical care for children in Poland.
